BOOKS

It was pretty late for anyone to be out of their hostel rooms. However, these rules could not have stopped the determined Tejani. 

No one knew where she was going. No one could guess what was going on behind that pretty face, in that smart head.

Her hands crossed closed to her body, she walked as fast as she could. The crescent moon above was covered with black clouds. However the street lights were good enough to light her path to happiness. 

The hoodie she was wearing was not enough to keep out the chilly gusts of  December winds. She rubbed her hands to give them some warmth and prevent them from freezing. In spite of that, she kept on moving forward. 

                             

She looked around to see if someone would come catch her. But, the guards were probably sleeping through the cold. As majority of the students had went home for Christmas, the guards loosened up. 

There was no light or sound from the rooms nearby. However, the eerie sounds made by the swaying trees, the crickets stridulating, the rustling of the leaves made the night alive and frightful. There were snakes spotted at night in the past, but Tejani did not fear. She was determined to reach her destination as quickly as she could. 

After walking for fifteen minutes across the twenty-five acre wide campus, she finally reached her destination - The Library. 

It was about to be closed. The librarian had known her pretty well, therefore she allowed Tejani to browse through the books to find the one she wanted. 

Tejani with a smile on her face went rushing into the library, and went straight to the rack where she could find the book she longed to read. 

With a smile developing across her face and her eyes shining with joy, she reached for the book titled ‘Fault In Our Stars’.
